Quick answers to the most common questions and issues when setting up VP SEO.

My title didn't change

SEO Title only affects single article views. Confirm the plugin is enabled, and that no other SEO extension or template feature overwrites the title afterwards.

I see duplicate OpenGraph tags

Your template or another extension is also outputting OG tags. Only one source should — disable the other, or VP SEO. VP SEO is designed to be the single source.

The social image isn't showing

Check the image isn't an SVG (those are skipped by design), that the path resolves publicly, and that you've set a Default Image as a fallback. After changing it, re-scrape the URL in the platform's debugger to clear its cache.

Does VP SEO add Schema.org data?

No. Joomla core already provides Article structured data via its Schema.org plugin; VP SEO doesn't duplicate it.

My pages aren't getting indexed

That's almost always a site-wide noindex, nofollow robots setting (often left over from development) in Global Configuration → Metadata → Robots, not VP SEO. VP SEO doesn't set robots directives.

Will it slow down my site?

No. It only writes tags into the document head — no front-end CSS or JS, and no extra page weight.

Can I upgrade from Free to Pro without losing settings?

Yes. Install the Pro package over Free; it upgrades in place and keeps everything.
